Erich Gamma is a member of the Gang of Four which is known for its classical book “Design Patterns – Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software”. He was one of the originators of the Eclipse project. Together with Kent Beck he developed JUnit, the de facto standard testing tool for Java software.
Previously he worked for IBM as a Distinguished Engineer. Since 2011, he is a Microsoft Distinguished Engineer and leads a team which works out of a small Microsoft development lab in Zurich and is responsible for Visual Studio Code.
