Short bio

Daniel Buffet graduated in electrical engineering at ETH in Zürich, 
Switzerland - an education, which he complemented later with an Executive MBA at 
the University of St. Gallen. He started out designing and developing process 
control systems with a main focus on software development, software engineering 
and system architecture. He now is CIO at APG and among others responsible for 
development and maintenance of a reservation system for the billposting 
business. Software Engineering stayed a focal point of his work, together with 
the management of technology, project management and the management of change. 
He believes that the biggest potential to generate value when applying 
technology lies in a strong, interdisciplinary cooperation of experts, users and 
management. Putting together the best knowledge of the involved areas combined 
with an open mindset allows to come up with an appropriate choice of 
technologies and to find a well architected overall solution, which really fits 
and therefore also lasts.
