Abstract

OpenSSO (http://opensso.org/) is Sun's open source web access management,
federation and secure web services project, the basis for Sun Java System
Federated Access Manager 8.0, and one of the busiest projects on dev.java.net,
with over 650 project members. OpenSSO builds on Sun's successful Access Manager
7.x product, recently rated a market leader in Gartner's 'Magic Quadrant for Web
Access Management'.

This session looks at the progress of OpenSSO over the past three years and
gives an overview of its features and functionality, with a practical emphasis
on how you can leverage it in Java applications and get involved in the OpenSSO
project. Since OpenSSO (http://opensso.org/) was launched by Sun Microsystems in
July 2005, the entire code base of the Access Manager product has been released
as open source and Federated Access Manager 8.0 has been developed entirely in
the OpenSSO community.

We will look at several aspects of identity-enabling Java Web Applications -
from simply authenticating the user on behalf of the application through
integration with Java EE's security model, to the latest developments in
identity web services. Come find out how OpenSSO can work in your application.
