Abstract
The Portlet 2.0 specification covered the most required features asked by
developers who were using the previous one. It enabled a lot of new scenarios
that could use or abuse those features.
One year after the final release of the specification we will come back on the
history on the various implementations and see through real world scenarios the
good, bad and ugly usages of public render parameters, portlet events and
resource serving capabilities.
By looking at this experience we are able to get some patterns about optimal or
best approaches for common portlet developer concerns.
With a similar approach we will shred some light on what to avoid and in which
cases those features are not a solution for developers.
The session will cover issues such as performance and reliability when writing
Portlet 2.0 web applications.
